Die stamping Presses and Accessories
Cronite's 3 X 8¾ Hi-Speed Press System is the result of numerous changes and improvements on the original press throughout the years. The basic design is the accomplishment of the former Modern Die and Plate Press Manufacturing Company that manufactured the first 3 X 8 Modern Press in the late 1920's. As each lot of presses was manufactured, modifications were made to better suit the industry's needs. In 1946, Cronite began producing the 3 X 8 Press and by 1953, with the appearance of the Autofeed, emphasis was placed on increasing production capacity. Today's 3 X 8¾ Hi-Speed Die Stamping Press System (consisting of the Hi-Speed 3 X 8¾ Press, High Speed Autofeed, and Telestacker Drier) is the result of many years of engineering research devoted to modernizing the die stamping plant. The 3 X 8¾ Hi-Speed Die Stamping Press System can produce engraved stationery at speeds in excess of 8000 impressions per hour smoothly and effortlessly on various sizes and thicknesses of paper stock.
In 1965, Cronite took on the challenge of engineering a larger sized die stamping press system which could stamp at higher speeds without sacrificing quality or efficiency. After years of changes and improvements, the result is a die stamping press system of revolutionary new design, unlike any other before it. A system which can produce engraved stationery at speeds as fast as 7000 impressions per hour smoothly and effortlessly on various sizes of thicknesses of paper stock.
When purchasing a 5 X 9 Hi-Speed Die Stamping Press system from Cronite, the buyer receives more than just new equipment. Each piece of equipment sold is the product of over 100 years of experience in the industry and is designed with the operator in mind. "Operator Friendly" machinery helps get the most from employees, as well as from equipment to help make the die stamping shop run more smoothly and efficiently. The 5 X 9 Hi-Speed Die Stamping Press, High Speed Autofeed, and Telestacker Drier come together to form an integrated new system for producing engraved stationery which is far superior to any other equipment in use today. In an industry where time and production costs are so closely related, a new 5 X 9 Hi-Speed Die Stamping Press System becomes a very wise investment in efficiency and profitability.
HOT FOIL EMBOSSING ATTACHMENT
The Cronite Hot Foil Embossing Attachment goes in the die stamping press in place of the regular counterblock in less than 1 minute. It applies heat to the foil which is transferred to the stock. This attachment was designed to accomplish two things. The first was to offer a money maker that is easy to install and use without having to buy a printing press. The second was to afford you extra income after a minimum investment. There is a large and growing market for foil impressions. You can capture your share of this expanding market easily since you already have 85% of the technology needed by knowing how to make a counter.
The Hot Foil and Embossing Attachment can be used on most Hi-Speed, Modern, Carver, or Waite & Saville Presses. It can be used hand fed or with an Autofeed. It has been sold and perfected since 1972.
The unit is supplied with a 600 foot roll of pale gold foil, a roll of thermal bonding tape, and a very accurate temperature controller. Everything you need to get started, including a detailed set of instructions and manual for the controller comes with the unit.
AUDIBLE WARNING DEVICE
The Cronite Audible Warning Device (AWD) is designed to increase the operator's safety on older die stamping presses. With minimal cost and down time, Cronite's AWD will increase the safety of presses made years before OSHA came into effect.
Although this device is not meant to prevent penetration into the die area with parts of your body, the principal behind the AWD is similar to the principal for operating late model paper cutters, in that it demands that the operator place both hands in safe locations before the press can be put into motion. An operator cannot inadvertently put the press into motion to cause injury.
A piezoelectric buzzer is sounded to warn others that may be in the vicinity (at the back of the press) when it is about to be placed into motion. The AWD also has a lighted red push button to indicate that the press clutch handle is not in the brake (stop) position; i.e. when the press is not safe or it is in motion.
The AWD will not restrict the press operator by its installation, but it greatly increases the operator's safety. Along with many guards available from Cronite, older presses can be made much safer than when they were first manufactured.
SPLIT FOUNTAIN
Cronite offers custom-made split fountains, available in 2- or multi-color models. Made to your specifications, the split fountains are designed for easy set-up, cleaning, and running.
Get a great speed average for those special jobs by printing 2 or 3 colors in one pass.
Cronite makes or modifies stock parts so that the installation is simplified. The components consist of divided stainless steel ink rollers and a divided stainless steel ink pan with inboard scrapers to prevent carry over between ink wells.
A new inking rubber roller is included with the 2 stainless rollers so that the division is accurately made. An extra set of new outboard scrapers and gears is usually desired for the installation.
